Photo Set: On the Road

Hello my lovely friends!

How has your week been so far? I'm incredibly happy it's finally halfway over; this week could not be any longer. I hear back from MIT on Friday (it's Pi day, get it) and I do not know if I can wait another day and a half. I'm just itching to find out!

 In other news on Monday I took some photos for my film class with my beautiful friend, Nickie, and I absolutely adore how they turned out! I took them right before sunset, and the lighting turned out just lovely.

The (film) photos I had to take for class were under the theme of surrealism, which is why I like the below photo so much. Her face is blocked out, yet it is obvious she is leaving somewhere, heading out On the Road. 

Even though it looks freezing in most of these pictures, it was actually around 40 degrees most of the time, which enabled us to stay out so much longer! I can't wait for the warmth to finally settle in.

Wednesday Wishes: Black Friday Edition

Hello everyone! Happy almost Thanksgiving :)
This is one of my favorite holidays because it combines family, glorious food, and shopping. LOTS of shopping. It's like the perfect day.

This year we're celebrating at my brother-in-law's (eep! so weird to say that) parents' house. This is the first time I'm going elsewhere for Thanksgiving dinner, but I have high hopes! I think it's going to be absolutely lovely ^^ I just hope there will be a vegetarian entrée!

Anyway, in the spirit of Black Friday in a couple of days, I'm going to put together a list of pieces I'll be looking out for on my little shopping adventure!

Ever since I saw HelloKatyxo from YouTube wear these in one of her videos, I've been wanting a pair ever since. I just can't get myself to dish out $140 on a pair of boots, even though I know I'd get a ton of use out of them. I've found an adequate ripoff on eBay, but they aren't as pretty or as nice as these. I'm going to keep a lookout for a discounted pair on Friday! Maybe Nordstrom will have them?

When I started my internship over the summer, I went into J Crew on the hunt for business casual attire. I tried on their pixie pants and fell in love with the fit. Unfortunately the price tag prevented me from buying a pair, but I'm hoping that J Crew will have some sort of sale to lower the price on these (with the leather blocking) so I can make my dreams come true!

An Improptu OOTD

Outfit of the Day: Houndstooth & Trench

Hey guys! How are you? I finally found the time to get outside and take some outfit photos. Thank goodness.

If you didn't know this about me, I go to a school where uniforms are required. So on days where we have casual dress, I like to get all dolled up! Today I had the opportunity to dress out of uniform, and this is what I wore. However, don't be fooled by the warmness of the photographs. It was around 30 degrees when I took them!

Life Lately

Hey guys! How have you been?
I'm starting to get over my stress from missing so much school, which is wonderful. Life is calming down, and I'm learning to take things as they are and enjoy them.

This time of year always has the power to mesmerize me. The colors are so vibrant yet so subdued. 

I went to a couple Halloween parties this year! For one I was Alex from A Clockwork Orange, and at the other my boyfriend and I went as Indiana Jones and Short Round.

I've been obsessing over this Tartan scarf I got from Forever 21. Speaking of F21, they (re)opened a new store in the mall near me, and my friend and I went to the grand opening and got a $50 gift card each! It was pretty rad. 

My mom and I are switching rooms in a few days, and my soon-to-be closet is beautiful. It's bigger than the room itself, and the room is pretty large. I've been scouring Tumblr and other websites to find the perfect inspiration to redo the closet. I'm thinking of painting the whole thing white, getting a fuzzy rug and chiffon curtains, and making it a cute little workspace for my Etsy, Blog, and YouTube! Winter Wishlist

Hey guys! I know what you're probably thinking..."Megan, it's just November first. Calm down. It's not even Thanksgiving yet." But I live in Chicago, and it starts raining as early as October sometimes. As such I have to look ahead. Not to mention I online shop so I have to factor in shipping times! Here are a few things I would love to have in my Winter wardrobe:

This snowflake ring is too adorable for words. I've had my crescent moon ring for a while now, and I love the simplicity of it. I'm definitely going to have to invest in this cute, little item.

Don't these look like the comfiest socks ever? ModCloth also has them in gray, and I can't decide which I like better. I'm pretty certain I would live in these.

I'm a sucker for outerwear, and this coat definitely gets to me. It's mustard AND a trench coat. WHat more could a girl want? Oh yeah! And it's under $100, a hard thing to find for a cute coat.

Both of these coats from ModCloth are too adorable for words. I couldn't choose which one I liked better! The blue coat has pleating all along the back with the brown popping through. I love it!

This reminds me of everything adorable and classy. Over the summer I lost my vintage edge, but it's slowly coming back, and I'm beginning to be attracted to everything like this again.      

This dress is from Urban Outfitters, and I've actually tried it on in store and it's super cute. I just haven't been able to justify spending $60 on it. I also can't decide which color I like better! I think I'm leaning more toward the green. What do you think?
