Outfit of the Day: Houndstooth & Trench

Hey guys! How are you? I finally found the time to get outside and take some outfit photos. Thank goodness.

If you didn't know this about me, I go to a school where uniforms are required. So on days where we have casual dress, I like to get all dolled up! Today I had the opportunity to dress out of uniform, and this is what I wore. However, don't be fooled by the warmness of the photographs. It was around 30 degrees when I took them!

Although it still looks like fall, the weather is definitely beginning to feel like Winter! Also, you may have noticed a new backdrop for some of the pictures. I'm almost moved into my new room, and I can't wait to show you guys how it looks! It's so lovely.

eBay Shopping List

Hey guys!
So it definitely starting snowing here today, and I need to hop on my winter shopping. I'm trying to get more into eBay because I've seen people get some serious deals. Room update: I'm all moved in and the closet is almost completely set up! All I have left to do is finish moving in some of my smaller items and get some rugs because I now have wooden floors. The room turned out lovely, and I'm too ecstatic to show you guys! But I digress, here is my winter eBay list :)

Velvet is always in for Winter--skirts especially. I found this super cute skirt for cheap enough that I would want to buy two of them! It's only $9!

Remember when I posted that Etsy wishlist with a snowflake ring? Well I found a similar, much cheaper alternative! This ring is around only $5. Unfortunately it's not the same sort of quality, but it's a fourth of the price.

I don't normally partake in auctions, but these easy jeans are going for only $30. (!!!!!) I may have to jump in on this one.

Around this time last year, I watched one of Hellokatyxo's videos in which she wore a J Crew sweater similar to this. Since then I have been on lookout for that sweater, and I think I found it!

All I See is Indigo

Have you ever had such a perfect day you could scream of joy? That's exactly how I'm feeling right now. I'm lying in bed, reflecting over today's happenings with the widest smirk on my face. The best part? Nothing even that CRAZY good happened, I even had a few moments where I just wanted to explode of frustration. But nevertheless, I've had one of the best days in a long time.

I spent most of the day switching rooms with my mom, by myself at first. Around 12:30 I went to brunch with friends, which was super lovely. (Hi Nickie and Tim!) And then my boyfriend helped me out the rest of the time. I got my mom's room set up all lovely and pretty with a nice shoe display. but I'm still left with two vacant rooms. Yes--the closet is as big as the room itself.

Oddly enough I love vacant rooms. Something about them is so tragically beautiful. They're so pristine and clean, but lonely. It's oddly enchanting.

After that I went to my favorite thrift store and got two rockin pairs of loafers, which I'm going to feature in a haul after I get this room business finished with! I also spent an hour talking to the owner who I've known since I started thrifting, and he offered me a job! (fingers crossed)

I then went and saw Carrie, the original being one of my favorite movies of all time. Tomorrow I'm painting and going to Ikea and over all just having a wonderful time.

If I could some up how I feel right now into a song, it is this one: 

Tom Milsom has been one of my favorite musicians for the past three years, and he is definitely worth checking out. A+ work there.

Life Lately

Hey guys! How have you been?
I'm starting to get over my stress from missing so much school, which is wonderful. Life is calming down, and I'm learning to take things as they are and enjoy them.

This time of year always has the power to mesmerize me. The colors are so vibrant yet so subdued. 

I went to a couple Halloween parties this year! For one I was Alex from A Clockwork Orange, and at the other my boyfriend and I went as Indiana Jones and Short Round.

I've been obsessing over this Tartan scarf I got from Forever 21. Speaking of F21, they (re)opened a new store in the mall near me, and my friend and I went to the grand opening and got a $50 gift card each! It was pretty rad. 

My mom and I are switching rooms in a few days, and my soon-to-be closet is beautiful. It's bigger than the room itself, and the room is pretty large. I've been scouring Tumblr and other websites to find the perfect inspiration to redo the closet. I'm thinking of painting the whole thing white, getting a fuzzy rug and chiffon curtains, and making it a cute little workspace for my Etsy, Blog, and YouTube! Winter Wishlist

Hey guys! I know what you're probably thinking..."Megan, it's just November first. Calm down. It's not even Thanksgiving yet." But I live in Chicago, and it starts raining as early as October sometimes. As such I have to look ahead. Not to mention I online shop so I have to factor in shipping times! Here are a few things I would love to have in my Winter wardrobe:

This snowflake ring is too adorable for words. I've had my crescent moon ring for a while now, and I love the simplicity of it. I'm definitely going to have to invest in this cute, little item.

Don't these look like the comfiest socks ever? ModCloth also has them in gray, and I can't decide which I like better. I'm pretty certain I would live in these.

I'm a sucker for outerwear, and this coat definitely gets to me. It's mustard AND a trench coat. WHat more could a girl want? Oh yeah! And it's under $100, a hard thing to find for a cute coat.

Both of these coats from ModCloth are too adorable for words. I couldn't choose which one I liked better! The blue coat has pleating all along the back with the brown popping through. I love it!

This reminds me of everything adorable and classy. Over the summer I lost my vintage edge, but it's slowly coming back, and I'm beginning to be attracted to everything like this again.      

This dress is from Urban Outfitters, and I've actually tried it on in store and it's super cute. I just haven't been able to justify spending $60 on it. I also can't decide which color I like better! I think I'm leaning more toward the green. What do you think?
